| Despite winning an Oscar for her original screenplay, Sofia Coppola does not give the substance I expect. Hollywood pours out awards for her effort, and to me it only reflects why Hollywood is called Tinseltown, all show, confusion and stress without real substance. http://www.halfproshop.com/index.php?option=com_blog&view=comments&pid=167039&Itemid=0 - http://www.halfproshop.com/index.php?option=com_blog&view=comments&pid=167039&Itemid=0 Sir Thomas More was a very smart and savvy—as well as principled—man.
"Kingdom of Heaven" Sought to Be an Epic Film, But Became a Disaster in Production http://www.mzx.cn/plus/view.php?aid=7931 - http://www.mzx.cn/plus/view.php?aid=7931 Miss Congeniality - 2 Stars (Average)

Even director Donald Petrie could not totally control the amount of glut in Miss Congeniality's script. There were enough sidesteps, missteps and sight gags for a novelist to write a trilogy, and none of them worked all that well. Petrie cut some of the crap out, but the writers were trying to make a career out of writing one script. http://djy666.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=58012 - http://djy666.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=58012 There are several lines by More that merit mention but there is not enough space to do so. Here is one of the best: "I think that when statesmen forsake their own private conscience for the sake of their public duties, they lead their country by a short route to chaos."
In his quest to be noble, Liam Neeson was able to deliver this dialog as Godfrey de Ibelin: "Be without fear in the face of our enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath." (Spoken to his son, Balian, when making him a knight.) http://www.guanggun11.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=169038 - http://www.guanggun11.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=169038 The reason is simple: you do not bring meaning to your life by seeking meaning in your life, you bring meaning to your life by giving meaning to your life. Life does not come to you, you come to life, or you become an unhappy, dissatisfied person.
Released in 2000, Miss Congeniality is not a drama, an action adventure, a police flick, a comedy or a romantic comedy. It is a mismatch of all and a master of none. When you add in the corny, juvenile, inappropriate dialog, the film is lucky it had Sandra Bullock as its centerpiece because without her, it would have been beyond dismal. http://168xt.com/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=298191 - http://168xt.com/bbs/home.php?mod=space&uid=298191 Henry VIII's new Chancellor of England and Cardinal--Sir Thomas More (Paul Scofield)—stands in his way as well. Henry VIII wants Sir Thomas More's blessing in his action but does not get it as Sir Thomas More, a good Catholic and Cardinal, will not go along with such heresy.
Sofia Coppola wrote the lead role specifically for Bill Murray, and later said that if Murray turned it down, she would have scrapped the project. http://www.ddqyjzzs.com/Review.asp?NewsID=838 - http://www.ddqyjzzs.com/Review.asp?NewsID=838 History records that Saladin and his Muslim troops did recapture Jerusalem after defeating the King of Jerusalem at the Battle of Hattin near the Lake of Galilee. When Saladin's soldiers enter the City of Jerusalem, they were not allowed to kill civilians, rob people, or damage the city.
First, there is a reason why the immortal "Gone with the Wind", which involved a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction, took almost 4 hours to see. You apparently cannot make a quality, classic film about the Civil War in less time. Ken Burns' acclaimed documentary film "The Civil War" consisted of 9 episodes and took 11 hours to view. http://www.teyeah.net/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=165567 - http://www.teyeah.net/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=165567 The opening of the film has a lingering shot of Scarlett Johansson (as Charlotte) lying in bed sideways in her panties. Johansson was apparently reluctant to film the shot until Sofia Coppola modeled the panties herself.
The film also received Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actor (Robert Shaw) and Best Supporting Actress (Wendy Hiller as Sir Thomas More's wife Alice). http://www.hifoge.com/a/lianxifangshi/2.html - http://www.hifoge.com/a/lianxifangshi/2.html Lost in Translation ' 2 Stars (Average)
